4K Light Switch

John Russell's comment about his high temperature 4K headlight
switch reminds me of a slightly surreal experience I had some years
ago with mine.  Over a period of about two weeks vaguely noxious
fumes seemed to waft in my face while I was driving my '85 4KSQ. 
They were intermittant and I couldn't tell where they were coming from. 
I even thought it might be my imagination.  Finally, I determined that
they were emanating from my badly overheated light switch and had it
replaced.  The replacement switch remains warm to the touch when the
lights are on.  Maybe the original did, too, but I never noticed until
things got out of hand.
