80 or 81 T motor --> 87 4Kq

My brother wanted me to ask this:

He just bought a 87 4Kq, with a blown motor.  He wasts to install the motor
from
an 80 or 81 turbo (non-q, not sure which model or engine code) car we have
around somewhere.  anyone out there done this?  I figure it's got to be
relatively simple, harness, ecu, etc...  please email me privately if you
can help!
