Some of you will have heard this story before.

Back in the interregnum between my previous job and this one (about four years 
ago) I drove an ancient Datsun for a few weeks.  I also used a scanner set to 
the traffic channels for the M25, the truckers' CB channels and the analogue 
cellphone channels.
 
A young and very flash coloured gentleman drew up next to me at some traffic 
lights near Heathrow Airport in a BMW 8 series, dripping with gold jewellery 
and posing like mad.
 
His carphone rang, and my scanner locked into it.  It was the finance company 
telling him that, if he didn't return home with the car immediately, they would 
notify the police that it was stolen.  He flamboyantly replaced the receiver.  
I showed him the scanner.

Unfortunately we were in different lanes and headed in different directions.
