Re: ABS problem-wiring break?
Early this winter I had a similiar problem , not the same, but it may be
of some help in tracing your gremlin. My ABS off light came on (I had not
disengaged it and could not change it be pushing switch) also the light
saying the center diff was locked came on even though the switch was in
the off position and it didn't feel like the diff was locked
My fantastic mechanic,
Larry Reed in Williston, VT, diagnosed it quickly. Here goes: when you
turn the switch to lock the diff it also activates a switch which (1)
disengages the
the ABS and (2) turns on the light indicating that the diff is locked.
There was a bent heat shield contacting this switch. Bend shield and
everything back to normal.
