I, too have modified the airbox on my 5ktq. I just cut off the housing
and installed the airfilter with what is left of the box - I cut off the
box except for the housing that holds the K&N filter (ooooooh - powerful
improvement) in place.
Results - more induction noise, you get that cool locomotive sound.
Perhaps a bit crisper throttle response from idle, and LESS top-end HP
because it’s sucking all the hot air off the turbo! Did I mention it
sounds neat, though ;).
My next step - scrap the modified box, re-attach the full housing and
run a dryer hose to the front.
Anyone done anything to the innards of the 20v 200q box? There’s a tube
that extends inside the box housing and it would seem that cutting it
off might improve flow a little. Anyone been there?
