Four gears: 1st, 0.75th, 0.5th and 0.25th. If you went to post a letter, you
didn't need to stop the car. Just hop out, run across the road, post the
letter, run back and jump back into the car. All without disengaging gear.
We had a Singer Vogue - the "alternative badge" to the Humber. A great big
heavy green thing: "3704 R".
