Musings...

I'm starting my plans for next year's repaint. While looking over the car,
it occured to me that I would probly get a pretty crappy roofline if I tried
to mask off the chrome molding with the plastic edging... Anyone have
experience with the removal (preferably w/o new part replacement - old stuff
in good shape) of these pieces/parts? The installed plastic rivets look
suspiciously immovable w/o destruction...

Also - probly paid too much - but ordered an Autometer 2 5/8" boost guage
today w/red light kit and holder. Wanted something a bit prominent that
would still fit in. Expected placement is above and next to the driver's
speaker on the angled portion of the instrument pod. The Autometer mount is
more of a steering column mount - I've decided a bit of judicious cutting
into the dashboard will provide a close, solid AND decent looking mount that
will show no cr*ppy Metal mount or shiny screws. Total cost - 60.00...

Finally, ordered my hydraulic boost system replacement components today from
Linda and Cris Semple. After the last cleanout, I noticed the reservoir and
filter very dirty again (w/in 6 months!). This tells me that the hoses
throughout the system are internally deteriorating. For those of us with
aging vehicles like mine, better think hard about replacing all hoses along
with that nice expensive new bomb what has a nice tight clearanced, easily
clogged internal check valve...

Next stop - TAP fer a Samco blowoff hose and replacement turbo gaskets -
heh, heh, heh...
