I understand that there is no local awd Dyno, and so I bought
a GTech Pro to baseline before and after the mods I am doing
to the urq, and also check the 5hp gains from the 20V TAP chip.

If you reference my other post of today, regarding flywheel
vs delivered horsepower, you'll see that PowerHaus has modified
and dynoed several 944Ts to 329/341/387 delivered HP.
Also, if we take a conservative number of 10% to translate from
the urq factory stock 160hp flywheel, we get 144hp delivered.

So the Gtech manual says that you should get +/- 3hp accuracy,
should get highest readings in lower gears due to the square
effect of wind resistance, and should do 5 runs, throwing out
the high and low, and averaging the middle three. Basically
you input the vehicle weight, and it measures acceleration
and calculates the peak HP instantaneous peak accel measurements.

The weight I input was the 3010lbs I measured on the scales at NHIS
plus 190lbs for me dressed, plus 40lbs for the spare = 3240 lbs.

The baseline was the stock engine 97kmi, with K&N filter (not cone),
a Dynomax Ultraflow muffler, and a high flow (hgm,hgm..) kitty.
The boost limit was increased to top off at 11psi.
The measurements were done on 3/17/97, temp was 32F.

	185
	236 throw out
210 average of 3 is 199 hp delivered
	175 throw out
	202

Therefore, the 199hp is a 38% increase over the stock 144hp.

NOW FOR THE SHOCKER!!!!!!!!
I replaced the K26 with a K24 water cooled turbo, and it clearly
spools up quicker so that I get lots of boost at 2000rpm, where
before there wasn't much before 4000rpm. In addition I pulled
the head, new head/valvecover/exhmanifold gaskets, all new hoses
(big bux themselves), and installed a Lehmann/Hoppen chip in the
ECU (Lehmann supposedly did all the SportQ motor building
for the factory rallye and Pikes Peak cars). The boost limit
was increased to 15psi, measurements this morning, temp was 40F.

	415 throw out
	272
320 average of 3 is 306 hp delivered
	257 throw out
	326

I cannot believe what an ANIMAL this car is now!! It's rough
and raspy and loud, and moves at a twitch of your foot. The
G-Tech pro also does 0-60times, but it really takes a clutch
dump to get any good times, so next Sunday we'll see if my
NHIS times get much better (I'm hoping for 4-5 seconds).

A very happy (despite my stolen wheels)
