Sorry to hear about your A4 incident.
I was hit up the arse by a bus in ours and it did only $186 of 
damage!!

A bit of info for you on my queen's A4q 2.8 Slushbox.
The wife couldnt get the Auto trans out of Park (a long and fraught 
story goes along with this but I won't bore you with the details!!).
I came home and stuffed my hand up in front of the brake pedal and 
felt the solenoid go 'clunk". Took it to the dealership where, of course, it 
worked perfectly. Given my input and the frantic call from my wife earlier 
that morning (part of the long and fraught story etc etc) they then 
replaced the brake light switch! Evidently the tech has heard/seen of 
similar problems on some A6's.
As of this writing no problem's since the replacement.

P.S. Did a long drive to Kalamazoo Michigan (180 miles ea way)  in 
torrential monsoons on Friday - I felt like a looney cos I wanted to 
laugh at everyone else driving "normal" cars - is this normal for a 
quattro owner?
