waterpump/timing belt on a 200

Need to replace both soon. (81k).  Manual says
to remove grill, intercooler and vent panel
but mines part of the bumper  does this have to 
go too  ?  Need space to get at that monster
torqued crankshaft pulley. Ive done this job on my
82 coupe, and hopefully this will be easier
with the crankshaft holding fixture I found at the 
swapmeet.   also found acouple of big cracks in the 
abs connector going to the u shaped hose from the intercooler to the turbo
inlet. Repaired this
with fiberglass and the power increase  is
remarkable.  Thanks for your help.
