Suggestions for alarm replacement, '91 200q?

Anyone have experience replacing the alarm on a '91 200q?  The shop hasn't
been able to fix mine yet (goes off for no reason...).  Seems like it would
be cheaper to replace the alarm unit with an aftermarket one.  Any
suggestions?  I'd like to keep the same basic functions at least as the
factory alarm.

(ps lots of snow predicted today in New England (20"?), should be a good
chance to play with the new quattro!)
