Re: A good Rain Tire?

Hi fellow listers,

On the subject of "a good rain tire", one tire that immediately comes to
mind is the Goodyear GS-C. It has the same tread pattern as the Formula
One Rain tire and I was going to put it on my yet to be arrived A4Q 1.8T,
but after checking its price and its tread wear rating (180), I have now
decided to go for the Firestone Firehawks SZ50, the SZ50 uses the same
tread pattern as the Indy Car Rain tire and its price are reasonable and
its tread wear rating is 220 which is a bit better than the Goodyear GS-C.
TireRack did a comparison test between the Goodyear GS-C, the Firestone
SZ50 and the Comp T/A and the Firestone comes out ahead. You can check the
test result on

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/allus_rd.htm

My A4Q 1.8T will be arriving in two weeks, so if any of you have any
comments/warnings/experience with the Firestone SZ50, please let me know
before I put these Firestones on. Or I will be reporting on how these
Firestone perform in about a month.
