RE: S4 costs

Bruce -

I'm new to the list and to the internet, so forgive me if you've already answered this: what modifications did you make to your 200tqw to raise the level of performance to that of a S4 or S6? What did the modifications cost?

Thanks in advance!
Gary, in Denver

Subject: S4 costs

Back when I was looking for a daily driver, I looked at several
S4's and thought the same thing [too much cash]. Now, before you S4
owners send me hate mail--let me add a caveat. When I looked [year ago?]
prices were ranging from 25k up. Since I drive approx. 40,000-50,000 per
year, I just plain did not want to eat the depreciation that would be
necessary after only 2 years of driving. They are darn nice cars, and I
still want one. But, for me, the 89 200tqw fit the bill and, for having
[still] way less than 10k in it, no stock S4 or S6 will stay with it.

Still kick myself for letting that 93 S4 with about 25,000 on it
slip through my hands at the insurance pool for 6k. Needed interior, 4
wheels, air bag [yeah, like I would replace that], stereo and a paint
job. Oh well.
