OK, I will try not to start a big discussion but, I would higly reccomend
replacing the head unit before the speakers. Also, the OHM rating of the
speakers is only a real big concern when dealing with POST head unit
amplifiers. By this I mean stereos such as the Bose systems Ford uses,
JBL, Delco, etc.. A lot of these factory upgrade stereos use strange ohm
loads to run more speakers off of fewer amplifiers and the such. The will
use 6 ohm speakers so that they can put three on a channel and pull a 2 ohm
load and such. Point of story, if your speakers aren't powered by the head
unit alone, find out what ohms rating the stock speakers are.
