Re: how to catch BMW

I'm supposed to picture a pack of BMWs too fat to get out of their own
way while a line of Audis are chirping their tires in 5th gear at 210
KPH just waiting to blaze by the wheezing 850s and M5s? Ahh, unless some
of the BMWs' top speeds are electronically limited over there too and
Audis are free to go, I doubt that's a real scenerio, but let me know.
BTW, in the acronym for kilometers per hour, is 'k' capitalized? ...is
it KmPH? Sorry, I'm not in my car, have no imported mags close by, and
am not too memory proficient.

Yeah, and they lost all seven 0-60 MPH sprints conducted in our mags.

What matters over here is acceleration and braking, NOT Autobahn
speeds. Give me all the figures you can on STOCK EUROPEAN BMWs and STOCK
EUROPEAN Audis performing the 0-100-0 MPH test that we care about, and
then I'll see if you're right. If you prefer, or must, use KPH(0-161-0),
and also throw in times for the comparable Benzs. If you can show me
that stock European Audis would out perform stock American BMWs, or even
stock MBs over here in those performance situations, then I'll bitch to
AoA for them to send us those super Audis. But from what I've read and
heard, yes I'll admit most of my experience is from literature and
conversation with other owners, stock Audis don't offer competitive
performance relative to other comparable cars anywhere. I've driven my
friends' A4 1.8T automatic and read in our mags that 60 MPH comes in ~9
seconds, but I'll admit it 'feels' quicker. Kinda funny how my 11 year
old Audi 'feels' quicker too, huh? Think they engineer 'em to 'feel'
quicker because they know they're slower? BMWs, however, don't just
'feel' quicker, they ARE quicker! Also, their braking distances are
always significantly shorter, thus they always outperform Audis in
America's all-important 0-100-0 test. So prove to me that you have stock
Audis over there that would be BMW-killers over here and I'll have been
enlightened by you once more.

> they're afraid of delivering too much power and getting pilloried again.

They're certainly afraid of something. It's too bad.

Not a BMW-lover, just a realistic Audi-lover who, alas, has been hoping
for bigger engines and bigger and better brakes for almost a decade now.
