RE: Quattro vs. BMW iX
Satch,
Let me clarify some things here, before this gets blown even further out
proportion. I believe the original topic (someone PLEASE correct me if
I am wrong), was distinguishing the differences between the ix and
quattro. I posted the differences between the two, and attempted to
distinguish the greater complexity of the quattro system (no flames
please), versus the viscous system on the ix (BTW there was never any
bad connotations expressed when relating the viscous system in the ix to
a transfer case in a Toyota pickup). Whether one system is better than
the other is going to inevitably be prone to personal opinion. I didn't
feel it was inappropriate to give my opinion on the two, nor did I feel
I gave a completely inaccurate depiction of the two. I don't know how
much of the mail was forwarded to you Satch, but I think it started out
pretty friendly, and then things just started getting extremely nasty
where stupid comments were made on all sides.
Last night I think this whole issue died somewhat peaceably, after it
was obvious that personal feelings were getting way too involved, rather
than just straight facts. If I have offended you or anyone else on the
list, I sincerely apologize. I know it was never my intention, nor do I
think it was anyone else's, to start a personal opinion battle between
the two. If anyone wants to talk with me off the list, please feel free
to. I hate being in flame war battles, and I regret some of the things
I had said concerning this topic that may have offended some. Again, my
apologies to all for this issue going MUCH farther than it should have
gone.
Best Regards,
