Avus is Recognized again!

Well, in the May car and driver, I was flipping through when I came across
this headline on page 148...Fatal Attraction. First page...De Tomaso
Mangusta (from what I've heard, unruly to drive, but gorgous), Lamborghini
Muria(what can be said about this car that hasn't already....awe-inspiring?
unbelievable? Top speed of 178 mph in 1966, for a street car? Can't be
easily toped today...) and the Porsche 944 turbo (well, it wouldn't have been
one of my choices, but hey...they are fast. NEXT PAGE. Hello. Polished
aluminum, rear sloping glass with LARGE engine and two sloping intakes. Roof
scoop. Gullwing doors. Wow. Back when the car came out, 6 years ago (yes,
1991) I bought the model, and have treasured it ever since. It's sad that
such a wonderfully inivative and drop dead gorgous automobile has been
overlooked for such drabbery as Lexus's and dare I say Chevy corvettes. The
car now rests in the Audi museum at Ignolstadt, near its silver arrow
cousins...

Sorry for commentary, but just my 2 cents.
Kwattro

BTW...the chrystler turbine car made the list too...was that a bribe or what?
