The seller of my 87 CGT warned me that the cruise control worked
on the car but that the resume feature did not. When braking I
would have to reset the cruise. When making my first long distance
trip in the car (which happened to be the four hour drive home from
the seller's house) I was using the cruise control and it held speed
perfectly (no mean feat, considering the highest mountain in central
Florida is the speed bump at the local Walmart). Anyway, with the
cruise control on I had to brake and change lanes. The breaking part
went fine but imagine my surprise when I used the lane change signal
to find the resume feature kick in, causing my car to accelerate
suddenly. Braking again grabbed control back from the cruise but I
kept it on manual control the rest of the trip.
