The 5 cylinder V-6 is not actually "V" shaped. It's shaped more like
a pincushion. Two of the cylinders have four valves, the other two
have five, for better breathing and high end torque. The sixth
cylinder has only one valve which acts as both intake and exhaust,
reducing mechanical complexity which renders the engine quieter than
its Mercedes or Bimmer competition. The four valve pistons will have
a timing belt, the five valves will have a chain. The sixth will
operate electronically through the ABS system.

The biggest breakthrough will be the new quattro, it powers only the
front wheels and if it senses loss of traction, it cuts off the fuel
pump, so the driver can't lose control.
