RE: Audi near-stalls when I take it out of gear
Sounds like your Idle Stabilization Valve (the dreaded ISV) isn't doing
its job. Mine was exhibiting similar symptoms, namely a lurch coming
into or out of idle. To prove to myself that it was the ISV, I unplugged
it and drove the car. The lurch went away, and I had exactly the
symptoms you have now. Would you buy a solution yet? No, wait, there's
more! I plugged the ISV back in, and bassoon, (better than voila) life
is good! *Now* how much would you pay? If unplug/replug doesn't work,
try some contact cleaner. No, wait, it gets better. If *that* doesn't
work, try repeated (like 6 or more) soakings of the ISV in carb cleaner.
Ready to buy? Call now, our operators are standing by...
