Re: A4 Super Car
I apologize that I accidentally mislead some people. Attempt to clarify.
Yes, I know that the VW V6 2.8, 12v (VR6) and the Audi V6 2.8, 12v are
different engines, and--my apologies--I didn't start to spell out "VW"
until my second post, mainly because my *focus* was to discuss the future
of the 1998 Audi 2.8, 32v modification ("A4 Super Car") project -- that EIP
Tuning will soon start developing a turbocharger system for this engine.
Only as a point of comparison, I referred to their current turbo system
which has already been available for some time. I forget that people
would not know about EIP as *VW tuners--modify only VW engines* (so far).
But I realized this when asked about the current EIP turbo system. So, in
a second post I right away spell out: "EIP ...in the *VW* modification
business," gave a URL containing the words "turboVR6", which links to the
website "The EIP VR6 Turbo System." I had hoped that these references
would be clear enough. To make it perfectly clear: This turbo system is
for the VW engine only. But actually, not for *all* VW 2.8's--it is for
the Corrado, Gulf, and Jetta III, but not the Passat 2.8. So, if there are
Passat owners reading this, now you know. And those are the same engines.
But the whole point was supposed to be about the 1998 AUDI 2.8L 32v. and
what huge horsepower might be achievable with it! A couple of weeks ago
when I asked, EIP indicated to me that they do not plan to develop for the
*Audi* 2.8, 12v. I should have started with that sentence!!
