Screwed by an Audi dealer yet again...

I had plans on going to Houston this Saturday with $2500 to look over
and potentially purchase a 1984 4Kq w/115K miles, 1 owner. In anticipation
of this, the owner took the car into the dealership to have it checked
over. Well, this afternoon, the service manager called him and offered
$2400 + the cost of that days repairs (fix A/C hi-pressure leak, new A/C
relay, intake vacuum leak). Being the ethical gentleman that he is, he
offered me the option of buying the car at $2400, if I looked it over
and felt it was worth it. I agreed, but said I could not go over that,
if the service manager made a better counter offer. If that happened,
I told him to accept the offer from the service manager.

You've got one guess as to the outcome. :-(

I guess the Audi gods don't want me to have a 4Kq. <grumble, grumble>
