Try going near a piece of rock in the UK wearing nailed boots and you'll soon
find out what the natives think about people leaving scratches on mountains.
World War II almost started three years early when some Germans actually used a
_PITON_ on a climb in the Lake District in 1936.
The event is still referred to as "The Munich Climb Incident".
