Prerequisites
- Calibrated measuring equipment
- Vehicle unloaded - tank empty, spare wheel removed
- Tyre pressures correct
- Vehicle suspension in perfect order
- Steering and steering links free of incorrect play
- Wheels and wheel bearings free of excessive play
All values are to be achieved as accurately as possible.
Vehicles should not be measured until at least 2000km has been driven following
major suspension work. This is because the struts need time to settle.
Before commencing alignment, read and action appropriate parts of "Running Gear
- Front of Vehicle Disturbances and Steering Wheel Vibrations".
