Re: More on Torsen center diffs... -Repl

>I accept the logic of your argument, but I've never noticed the effect.

In theory, the Torsen should behave like an open diff on turn-in (i.e., the
nose of the car will tuck-in when you lift off the throttle) and like a
locked diff (or nearly so) under power ... the best of both worlds. It just
doesn't seem to work out out that way in practice! BTW, all the reviews
that I've read about the Torsen equipped Ur-Q specifically mention its
improved handling ... unfortunately, very few of us 'mericans have had the
opportunity to experience this first-hand, including me.

>Then again, I don't race the car. Have you driven other TORSENs at the limit?

When used as a center diff, No, because I don't know of anyone but Audi who
uses them this way here in the US ... as a front or rear diff, Yes, they
seem to work very well indeed.
