Funny...me too.  When I drove my Scirocco, he used to say things like 'get that piece 
of foreign iron out of the way of the garage' and 'what the *hell* do you kids see in 
these little fartbusters?'   All in good fun, but he could never get out of his 51 
hemi Chrylser Imperial and even *think* about appreciating my VW.  Until we restored 
it!  Then I heard 'wow, these little things are well made' and after a very bad 
accident, was the one most impressed that the frame only bent a bit.  Now, guess who's 
saying "Bring the Audi up to Jersey this weekend, I want to shoot the bumpers and get 
that ding ironed out...'?

I guess these cars have a certain charm for anyone who appreciates quality. In a 
strange way, it's brought me and my dad closer together.   But if I ever drove in an a 
Honda, I'd be disowned....
