Well I have an A4 2.8Q so YMMV. But I "ran-in" my car for the first
2K miles on premium (better safe that sorry), and since then switched
to 87 octane. I noticed no change in drivability or performance ... in
fact I did some acceleration "tests" on a deserted stretch of backroad
(very un-scientific, with just a stopwatch) and still averaged 0-60 times
in the lowish 8's. I'm now at 7500miles.

Having said that, the smaller engine with a turbo may have very different
characteristics!
