What did the dealer say? The lights will go on if they are
grounded out, or if the locks are engaged.
Do you have vacuum at the locks? (tip, switch the a/c on - does
the flap open/shut?) I would suspect a loose electrical
connector below, just atop the transmission.

Thanks. I checked at the the locking mechanism inside the car. When I
would push and pull the lever, I hear a hissing sound coming from the
locks. I noticed a hole in the end of the white area where the lever is
encased. Should there be a hole there? The connections for the lights
looked okay. When I went to the dealer (Parktown Audi-Porsche in St.
Louis), they put the car up on the lift and pulled the lever for the
locks. The service technician was under the car to see if the locks on
the center and rear differentials locked. They didn't lock. Then a
little while later the voltage regulator went out on it. It went out
while I was driving, and right when it died, the light came on. When
school finishes in about 6 days, I'm going to do a lot of other things,
so hopefully it ca be resolved then.
