FYI, in answering part of my own question, here's some weight statistics
that y'all might find interesting:

M3 Sedan:	3175lb, 240hp, 236lb/ft, 5.7s 0-60
A41.8tqm	3130lb, 150hp, 155lb/ft, 8.1s 0-60
A41.8tqm abt	3130lb?	250hp, ???lb/ft, 6.5s 0-62 
A42.8qm	3228lb, 172hp, 184lb/ft, 7.8s 0-60

by the way, the performance are manufacturers statistics.
