nitrous!

Just for the heck of it, I called NOS.
They offer two types of kits for the 4kq:

- single nozzle.  This sprays nos into the throttle body,
  or anywhere up to 6in before the TB.  Adds about 50hp.

- direct port.  involves drilling and tapping the intake
  manifold, but provides 75-85hp and can go a lot higher.
  Each cylinder would obviously have its own nozzle.

Cost for the single nozzle is about $500, direct port 
a bit higher.  Nitrous is used above 3000rpm, in 15sec
bursts or less.

If I can get a group purchase going, we could drop the price a
bit as well.  I don't see why this wouldn't work for any
model car, esp. non-aspirated.

They did mention that they have sold some kits to Turbo Quattro
owners.  Now *that's* sick.

Shoot an email if you're interested, or if you know of a good
reason, other than my wife saying no, not to do this.
