my Coupe GT

Yo,

I replaced the front struts in my Coupe today (with some new cheap ones
for free). It is much tighter than it was. The right side collar nut
thing that hold the cartridge in the housing was finger-loose, so I
think that's what the looseness was. I've decided that since I don't
have an example of the deleted collar piece in the upper strut hardware
to use as a guide for a modified one, that I'll just buy some new strut
bearings and new hardware (anyone know if it comes with any hardware?),
and use that as a template. The bearings are a bit drier than they
should be.

That off-throttle noise: Guess what? My tranny seems to be pretty damn
close to the side of the floor tunnel. It's pretty much touching on the
passenger side. Does anyone know what could cause this. The car was in
an accident while under the P/O's care. Hit on the driver side by a
stake bed truck turning right in front (into) him. Could be a cause.
What adjustment can I make or what measurements can I take? Help!
