RE: Need a Pittsburgh Lister's Help
First, estimate for what? Body work or suggested price for the car?
In any case, recommendations are:
1) C&G Performance, Inc (412/266-1646)
In the few years that they have been open, they have become one of the most
respected shops in the area. I have hard nothing but praise about them, and
they did a fantastic job of removing a frozen spark plug in my 911. They are
a mechanical repair shop. They really know Audis; actually, one of the
owners
(George Riggin) has a 200Q wagon which he loves.
2) Greater Pittsburgh Auto Center (412/264-3300)
Originally starting out as being a body shop, they have branched out into
also handling some mechanicla repairs. Mark Miller (owner) is an absolute
artist in body work & paint; they repaired my Coupe Quattro when Bambi's
illegitimate grandchild decided to commit hara-kiri on the nose of my Coupe.
Car is Pearl White, they totally matched the paint, and it is holding up
beautifully now for 4 years.
I think with both places, you will ahve to arrange to have car brought to
them.
Recommendation is (1) for mechanical, (2) for body.
Good luck!

Okay, I may have found a car. '88 90q silver/black. In the Carnegie
Mellon University area. The car needs a little body work and I was
wondering if anyone in the Pittsburgh area could suggest a reputable
place that could give me an estimate. I would also like the name of a
dealer/shop that could do a pre-buy inspection for me. I will not be
able to get up there for two weeks, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bryan
