clunk revisited



I have an 84 5kst and I am experiencing that mysterious and elusive clunk from 
the right front. It started shortly after I was rammed by a drunk driver from 
the right and swerved right and hit a curb at 60 to avoind him. I've tighted 
things ten times over and nothing. I did replace both lower control arm bolts 
which did help alot. They seem to be wear items that should be replaced 
periodically. My question is: is there and cheaper or easier remedy that the 
washer on the elongated bolt holes? Can i roughen the surfaces of the washers 
and the edges of the holes and torque them down very, very tight?
