Ticking sound....

UNBELIEVABLE! 
 
That is what I have to say! I left a question to the list day ago or so and got
flooded with most answers pointing me to the Vacuum pump. Well, lo and behold
that was the RIGHT ANSWER! Tonight after a 10 minute operation, I removed the
push rod to the pump and the ticking sound is gone! Sheeesh! I've been concerned
about that darned noise for 5 years! Even replaced the lifters thinking that was
the problem. Must admit though, I had fun doing that! 
 
THANK YOU to all who responded to my question. I even have a few sources for the
pump now, but still if anyone out there has one, let me know, I'm interested!
Not sure, but I don't really feel the difference on the brakes, but I am sure
the pump is there for a reason, right? <grin>.... If someone can offer one to me
cheap I'll consider it. I might even take the time to tear mine down and rebuild
it. You'd think that Audi would have had some sort of fix for this, it really is
annoying! 
 
Now I'm off to write another question....
