I had a dealer quote me a zilch markup from http://www.autobytel.com
(he
forgot to add the cost for the sport package, even though he had it listed
correctly). When he discovered his mistake he said he would sell me the
car
for $800 over cost (KBB wholesale + 1% for local advertising) rather than
the $1200 over cost for a quattro equipped unit. Although the price was
good, I walked out after being lowballed, but I di not make a scene because
his counter offer was quite good.

I just got my A4 1.8T + quattro + sport pck. + winter pck. + sunroof
+metallic paint + prem. audio (sounds really good for a factory unit. Not
sure if it's worth $660 extra) for $27,500. The sticker price was
$29100. Not the greatest deal, but I ordered this car back in early Jan,
and taking delivery of it next fri.
From the prices I was getting at the dealer, it looks like you'll pay little
more if you buy one off the lot. Assuming they have one in stock. My local
dealer had 15 new A4 come in last week, and they were all pre-sold. Looks
like if you order a A4 now, it looks like November delivery, but you'll
get a 98, which will come with the improved sport package on the 1.8T,
and 5V/cyl on the 2.8
Also, far as CD changer goes, the car is all wired for it already, I'll
be going to my local stereo shop to have it put in for $400 rather than
dealer wanting $800 for the same unit.
good luck.,.
