The vacuum pump isn't really covered in the Bentley but the procedure
is super easy.  Remove the two nuts that hold on the pump.  Lift it
off the engine.  You'll see a metal shaft about 1 cm in diameter
between the head and the pump.  Pull it out.  Put everything back
together.

One or two people have taken apart the pump but AFAIK no one has been
able to rebuild it such that it stops ticking.  You might try... or
you might just live without it.
