Susquehannock Trail Pro Rally

Hi All,

That which follows is information on how you can participate/work at a
Pro Rally and see the action close up and have a fun weekend.

From: debbisegall@juno.com (forwarded to the NEQ by NEHA)

Susquehannock Trail PRO Rally presented by Finger Lakes Region, SCCA
in cooperation with the citizens of Wellsboro, PA

Invite you to the 21st running of this premier event.
June 6-8, 1997

We hear (via Rally-L mostly) that J.B. is going to challenge Paul this
year, running Paul's old car. With Henry Joy ahead of Paul in the points
after Rim, this should prove to be a very exciting event.

The best way to SPECTATE, is to sign up as a worker. Workers have access
to places on the course where mere spectators can't go. Plus, they have
the most accurate maps and information about the event.
Workers receive a (collector's item) souvenir pin, and an event t-shirt.
Hospitality party both before (Friday night) and after (early Sunday
morning) the event for all registered participants.

We are in need of traffic control marshalls for spectator and
non-spectator corners. No experience required. It takes over 300 people
to put on STPR.
Also two teams of two people each are needed for Regrouping Controls,
and
one team of two people for the Rally Finish Main Time Control. PRO Rally
experience is highly desirable for these three teams.
To volunteer, contact Marsha Toombs at 75160.2057@compuserve.com

Also we need one SCCA member who is a licensed Radio Amateur (HAM) to
ride in course opening car 0. You must have your own 2 M mobile radio
with at least 50 watts output and mag-mount antenna, easily installable
in someone else's car. Interested Ham's should contact Debbi Segall at
DebbiSegall@Juno.com. Rally experience desirable.

Individuals licensed in Basic Life Support are also needed for each
stage. If you can help, contact Joe Bergen at 717-724-4130 (home) or
Lynn
Randall at mjsr360@aol.com

And, in case you want to try driving on some of the great Pennsylvania
"unimproved" roads, on Friday afternoon we have a special opportunity.

The eighth annual Wellsboro Rally for the Special Olympics
Friday, June 6
Registration Noon to 2:30
First car off 3:00
A very competetive tulip rally of about 70 miles. About twenty passage
controls in that distance require on-time all the time rallying. Precise
course measurement and lots of turns, will keep the navigator involved.
Trophies in three SCCA classes [Equipped, Limited, Stock] plus Novice
for
those with less than 6 rallies' experience.

Special thanks to Michelin for their donation of a set of tires for a
raffle.
100% of the proceeds from the rally and raffle support the Tioga County
(PA) Special Olympics. Door prizes and trophies provided by donation
from
local merchants.

Don't know how to rally? A free class on Thursday evening will explain
the mysteries of TSD road rally.
Rallymaster, Bill Laitenberger
