Re: Where is my ISV temperature switch?

Hi!

I can only speak for my car's engine but...
...*my* ISV temperature sensor (it's not a switch, it's a variable resistor)
is located at the front right side of the engine head, left of the power
steering pump, and it is mounted "upside down". It has a single brown wire
connected to it. It sits exactly opposite to another temperature sensor
with three or four wires and a rubber dustcap.

But - I think - the sensor is not the reason for your idle problem.
I experienced, that - if you disconnect the sensor while running the
engine, the ISV-"Computer" shuts down as if you disconnect the ISV, and
will only restart after switching the ignition off and on again.
(BTW, my car has no 5 or 30 seconds timeout, a short kick, not even enougth
to stall the engine works)
So, if you have bad wiring or else, the idle should not come back by itself...

Good luck!
Ero.

into the engine bay... And, to admire the Audi Gods, the car should ONLY
be parked in direction to Ingolstadt.)
