Re: Strange antilock-off behaviour (or self-engaging diff lock?)



Something similiar happpened to me last winter.  First noticed that some 
gremlin, without my permission was disengaging my anti-lock system.  Not 
bothersome but then it began to engage the center diff lock.  Horrors. My 
excellent mechanic, Larry Reed, diagnosed and fixed in 15 minutes--no 
parts needed.  This is the deal when you turn the switch to lock diff it 
sends signal to switch X.  Switch X disengages anti-lock system and turns 
on indicator light for diff lock (to tell you that you have turned it 
on).Switch X was being activated by a bent heat shield.  Bend shield 
back; voila troubles end.  Hope this helps.> >
