In april 1969 NSU agreed to be part of the newly
formed Audi NSU Auto Union AG with the Volkswagen
AG holding the majority of shares.
In the beginning of 1985 the company was renamed to
Audi AG.
The K70 was designed by NSU back in 1967 and scheduled
for 1968. Due to the merger between NSU and Audi Auto
Union AG the start was postponed and finally appeared
in 1969 under the Volkswagen label.
