I would definetly have the clutch changed as well. Since you have to remove the
tranny and this is what costs sooo much, you might as well spend the extra $150+
for the clutch parts and have the whole thing changed.  Not sure about the
prices for the other items, but go for the clutch job!

I took my 85 4000S Quattro to a shop to have the clutch noise 
looked at.  They agreed with my assessment that it was the 
throw-out bearing, and say that since it is basically a clutch 
job it will run $700 parts and labor. 
 
So, is this a reasonable amount for the bearing job? 
 
How do these prices sound overall?  As they were recommended by 
someone on the list, I expect their work is decent anyway!
