And now I ask: Are we all talking about the same sensor? I was asking
about the sensor that screws directly into the back of the cylinder
head, near the distributor, and has one of those Bosch connectors like
the one on the ISV. There is another sensor that has two male
connectors on it and screws into a small bracket on the valve cover (I
think that is the one Allan is referring to). It doesn't have one of
those facy connectors, just two wires each with a female connector on
it.
Now, it makes sense for the connector on the back of the head to be the
coolant temp. sender for the gauge, but then what it the other sensor on
the valve cover for? Is it the "engine temperature sensor" for the
computer? I doubt it's the coolant temp. sender, since it simply
measures the temperature of the air around the engine.
