You may also want to look at all the junctions of
the fuel lines up near the fuel distributor. I've
noticed a little dampness on one of mine. If the
seal between the hood and the firewall isn't
perfect, you can draw gas fumes in through the
ventilation system - the ventilation intake is
right there on the other side of the firewall.
Also, you can blow the little cap off the CO test
tube with boost pressure. But this is an exhaust
leak, so it smells different. And you can hear
it and it leaves a big black mark under the hood.
