4kTQ wins at ND show!

I hung out at the ND charity event for a few hours yesterday. There were
only two Audis being shown in the midst of all the VWs. The first was a
white '83 urQ which was basically stock with the exception of Euro bumpers
and lighting (actually I'm not sure the front bumper was a real european
part ...). I was surprised to see that Hella made euro lights for the
urQ that don't have the yellow corner reflectors ... I thought only Cibie
made them. I thought that having one lamp with the vertical face (early
urQ) and the other with the sloping face (4kQ) was a nice touch ;)

The other Audi was Duane Hale's MC equipped '87 4kQ ... Duane has one
*sweet* vehicle! From the wheels and brakes to the Recaro seats ...
suspension to paint job it is all very nicely done. Duane had a lot
of folks checking his car out during the day ... and it turned out
that he did win one of the categories (I couldn't understand what they
were saying the category was). The amazing thing was that he won with-
out having to turn on the stereo! ;) It was getting tiring having to
listen to all those little VWs with the monster stereo systems ... I
guess I'm just an old fart that loves to listen to the engine and rate
cars on how they are as driving instruments rather than sound rooms!
I hope I don't start that old speaker downforce thread again ... ;-)

I hope Duane and Ken had a fun drive back down south! Duane, you're
going to have to look for a new license plate ... I don't know if URQ
1AB applies any more ... :)
