86 4KCSQ Fuel Filter

Under the car, roughly under the right-hand rear passenger's butt.  

It can be a bit of a struggle, first because there's a lot of corrosion down 
there and the high-pressure lines to the fuel injection system are sometimes 
pretty hard to shift, secondly because the mountings (bonded bushes) will 
probably have rotted pretty well by now, thirdly because Audi changed the 
diameter of the input hose for some models and the "official" spare often won't 
fit without the hose being changed, and fourthly because you have to deal with 
open petrol pipes.
