     Phil,
     I agree with Jeff on this one, certainly regarding the North American 
     ur-qs. The fiche shows a change in spring starting with VIN  # F 
     85-E-900-329, interestingly the shocks changed at VIN # F 
     85-E-900-001?? I've also read that this reduced ride height by about 
     20mm.
     
     It also happened about the same time as the rear sway bar was deleted, 
     the front bar mounting was changed and 8" wheels were introduced.

     p.s. Maybe the springs on the earlier cars have sagged enough to make 
     them look like they've been lowered. :)
