"Check" light relief...ISV problem?
Hi all.
Well after a quite sometime of the "Check" light blues, the problem finally
seems to be solved (knock on wood). The culprit: CO out of adjustment.
After searching and searching...this was the problem?!? Just goes to show:
start simple when approaching problems such as this.
Since this problem has been solved, I knew it would not be long before
"Audi's Law" (there must, at all times, be at least or greater than one
minor component of an Audi which is slightly malfunctioning) would take hold
again and yield an elevated idle speed in my '88 90 (10v; 120k). Strange
because this problem surfaced only after I cleaned the ISV. The beast idles
at just a tick or so above 1000 RPM...around 900 with the lights on. Yes,
there is a noticeable increase in idle speed when I flick the lights off.
Weird, huh?
Could my ISV have died from inhaling WD-40...but what was this thread about
full throttle switch and idle speed?
