I forgot, for anyone who may go the way of the Porsche seats and Carrera
Cup wheels, Porsche also offers a one piece shiftknob/boot in leather and
brushed aluminum. It just so happens that the 911 6speed gearmap fits the
Audi 6speed and the Boxster gearmap matches the Audi 5speed (probably
because it is one). There is a matching brushed aluminum e-brake lever
handle/leather boot that says Porsche on it that would look pretty trick,
but the setup is like $600 or maybe that was the shiftknob alone, can't
remember. It'd look pretty good with the A!Avantgarde brushed aluminum
interior trim that fits where the wood is in the A4 2.8.
Toss that in with a tech art Porsche Airbag steering wheel or if they'll
do the cooler Audi Sport steering wheel, you'd have one rad start to an
RS4.

BTW, who's the current U.S. importer of A!Avantgarde wheels, etc? I think the
guy in CA is out of business...and I think I talked to Claus of CEC (I think
after reading it in AutoWeek or somewhere else), and he said they were
considering importing the wheels...then called later (2 months), and the
receptionist said: "huh?" - not too uncommon these days....luckily I didn't
get voice mail...anyway, I didn't push the issue the second time...

Dorab (nivi@aol.com)
Quattroless in India...anyone volunteering to run my cars while I'm away??
Okay, settle down and form lines please... ;-))

PS: Does anyone know whether parts fiche and repair manuals are available for
the A4/A6 lines with the 1,9 and 2,5 tdi engines? We might bring one over
here...and how about MPG, or Km/Liter stats? Reliability? Built with an
auto?? Probably only FWD needed here...TIA!
Diesel is subsidized over here, although it's scheduled to go up 15%...still
less than half the price of regular *leaded*....only starting to use unleaded
here...
