Don't have an A4, but according to D&W and all the various wheels fitments
and manufacturers they sell, the consensus seems to be ET35 (offset), whether
its a 17 x 7.5 or 17 x 8 fitment. If so, can you post or email the exact size
and offset of the wheels?

Correct. IMHO, the D&W catalog seems very accurate in its fitment guide,
preferring to be conservative (if you can believe that, probably to be in
conformance with the German Tüv standard. My V8 wheels should be 17 x 8 ET35
instead of ET30 (though I'm just clearing the rear fender lips.
Tire Rack or Discount Tire Direct should also have the correct fitment for
the A4. Keep in mind the importance of strength when you're talking 17"
wheels. You lose about 1" space between the rim and the road, and this can
be very important when it comes to some of the roads out there.
