Reminds me of the friend who sold his heavily modified pride and joy
Corvair Monza only to get a call from the buyer's girlfriend that no one
was dead, but that the buyer hadn't succeded in completing the inaugural
trip home. Seems the buyer pushed its fairly significant performance
envelope, eventually discovering the edge of said envelope, from the
wrong side. This on Goodyear Blue Streak racing slicks, no less. Cops
said he was doing over three times the posted limit, and after he
healed, they'd put a different kind of hurt on him.
Always difficult to hear of the loss of a nice car, particularly one
that is treated as more than just another transportation appliance.
